Dyslexia
Instructor: Shirley Harrist
If you can READ, you can learn anything about everything, and everything about anything! Tomie de Paola

This is a quote from my favorite children's author.  I keep these words up in my room to inspire children in their journey to learn to read, and to remind me of the awesome responsibility I have in helping them achieve this goal.
As the dyslexia interventionist, I am implementing the Wilson Reading system, a research based program designed for individuals who have difficulty with written language in the areas of decoding and spelling.  Utilizing this program, I will teach my students the structure of our language through a systematic, cumulative, and multisensory approach.
It is my desire to have an open line of communication.  You may contact me at sharrist@lcisd.net or by calling 776-0700, ext. 3306.
